What is a Healing Crystal?

Healing crystals are stones that are believed to have various healing properties for the mind, body, and soul. These crystals are thought to promote the flow of positive energy and help remove negative energy, potentially offering physical and emotional benefits.

The use of crystals dates back thousands of years. Archaeological findings suggest that humans began using crystals as early as 30,000 years ago. Early uses included decorative items, amulets, and tools for healing and spiritual practices. The Ancient Sumerians are among the first recorded use of crystals around 4000 BCE, where they would use them as medicinal ingredients. The Ancient Egyptians are well known for their crystal use, using crystals like lapis lazuli, turquoise, and carnelian for protection, health, and even cosmetics.

How They Work

The idea behind healing crystals is that they interact with the body’s energy field, or “aura,” to balance and align it. Different crystals are said to have different properties and can be used for various purposes, such as improving sleep, reducing stress, or enhancing focus.

Some believe that crystals have their own unique vibrational frequencies. When placed near or on the body, these vibrations are believed to interact with the body’s energy field, helping to balance and align it. This can potentially lead to improved well-being and harmony.

How to Use Healing Crystals

People use healing crystals in various ways:

Wearing them as jewellery: To keep the crystal’s energy close to the body.

Meditation: Holding the crystal or placing it nearby during meditation.

Placement in the home: Creating a grid or placing crystals in specific areas to influence the energy of the space.

Setting Intentions

When using crystals, it’s important to set clear intentions. Hold the crystal and focus on what you want to achieve, whether it’s success in a new job, financial abundance, or general good fortune. This helps to align the crystal’s energy with your goals.

How to Cleanse and Charge Your Crystals

Cleansing your crystals is important because they can absorb and hold onto various energies from their surroundings and from the people who handle them. Over time, this can affect their effectiveness and vibrancy. Here are a few reasons why cleansing is beneficial:

Remove Negative Energy: Crystals can accumulate negative energy, which can interfere with their ability to function optimally.

Restore Energy: Cleansing helps to reset the crystal’s energy, returning it to its natural state and enhancing its healing properties.

Enhance Effectiveness: Regular cleansing ensures that your crystals are always working at their best, providing you with the maximum benefits.

There are lots of different methods to cleanse your crystals, so choose the method that best resonates with you.

Running Water

Hold your crystal under cool, running water for about a minute. This method is simple and effective for most crystals.

Salt Water

Submerge your crystals in a bowl of salt water for a few hours or overnight. Be cautious, as some crystals can be damaged by salt. We recommend our natural Himalayan salt for this.

Moonlight

Place your crystals outside or on a windowsill during a full moon to cleanse and recharge them with lunar energy.

Sunlight

Leave your crystals in direct sunlight for a few hours. However, be aware that some crystals can fade in sunlight.

Smudging

Use sage, Palo Santo, or incense to smudge your crystals. Pass the crystal through the smoke several times.

Sound

Use a tuning fork, singing bowl, or even a bell to cleanse your crystals with sound vibrations.
